WKU (1-5) hosts Kent State (6-1) at 7 p.m. Tuesday for the Lady Toppers’ frist home game in almost a month. Follow along with the Herald’s live-blog coverage from Diddle Arena.

Kent State turns it right back over to the Lady Tops and Amy McNear hits two free throws to put WKU up by nine. Kent State answers and are down seven with 37.9 left to play.

A quick turnover with 1:02 by Amy McNear left gives Kent State the ball back down seven.

Kent State’s Jamilah Humes hit a three to cut the lead to six, but Hope Brown hit another big three as the shot clock expired to answer. Lady Tops now up 71-64 with 1:30 left to play.

3:55 left to play: Lady Tops 65, Kent State 57.

After stealing the ball, Arnika Brown goes down with a cramp with 5:58 left to play in the second half. She looks to be OK though as she’s smiling while being helped off the court. Jasmine Johnson is in for Brown.

7:53 left to play: Lady Tops 60, Kent State 51.

Arnika Brown continues to dominate for the Lady Toppers. She now has 15 points and six rebounds. Lady Toppers back up by 11, 60-49 with 9:03 left to play.

Timeout at 10:26 – Lady Tops 58, Kent State 47. Arnika Brown has 13 points and six rebounds, and Keisha Mosley has 10 points and six rebounds. 

12:40 left to play – Lady Tops get the lead back to 10, 54-44.

The second half is underway and Kent State is mounting a comeback. They’ve opened up on a 10-4 run and trail the Lady Tops 46-42 with 15:31 to play. Keisha Mosley is back in after playing just six minutes in the first half, but scoring eight points and grabbing four rebounds.

First half leaders: Arnika Brown has 10 points, four rebounds; Hope Brown has three 3-pointers for nine points; Keisha Mosley has four baskets inside the paint for eight points to along with four rebounds and a block.

Another Hope Brown three caps off a 14-6 run by the Lady Tops to close out the first half. Lady Tops up 40-32 over Kent State.

A three from Hope Brown, followed by a Janae Howard bucket have the Lady Tops up 35-30 with 1:22 left in the first half.

Not much scoring in the past five minutes or so. Lady Tops are up 30-28 with 2:53 left to play in first half. Arnika Brown has 10 points and four rebounds.

Hope Brown is back in the game and hits a three to tie the game at 26 with eight minutes left to play in the half.

Keisha Mosley now has eight points, all within five feet from the goal. Lady Tops still trail 26-23 with 8:30 left to play.

Lady Tops seem to be picking up the intensity with just under 10 minutes left after forcing a shot clock violation and a turnover on back to back possessions followed by a Keisha Mosley bucket to bring the Lady Tops within two, 23-21.

11:51 left to play in first half – Kent State 23, Lady Tops 17.

Timeout Lady Tops with 13:25 left to play – Kent State 19, Lady Tops 13. Kent State forward Chenel Harris is 3-3 from 3-point range.

14:47 left in first half – Senior guard Hope Brown was down on the floor for nearly two minutes after running in to a Kent State player on a pick. She fell right to her knees and look like she hit her face pretty hard on the player’s shoulder. Janae Howard is in for her.

Timeout at 15:38. This game looks like it’s going to be a high scoring affair. Kent State has missed just one shot and is up 10-7. Both teams running the fast break well though.
