Borgore World Tour is coming to Bowling Green Monday.

Borgore is a DJ from T.A., Israel who invented his own style of Dubstep called Gore-step.

Dubstep is a subgenre of electronic dance music with an emphasis on bass lines.

“Right now it’s popular everywhere,” said Nick Lough, a sophomore from New Market, Va. “It’s kind of a new movement that’s developed within the last few years. An entire electronic community has overtaken some of the older styles and become a new one. It’s filtering in to the mainstream now.”

Borgore will headline a performance that includes several other DJs from Kentucky and Tennessee at the State Street Pub, located at 700 State St.

The event is for ages 18 and older. The music starts at 7 p.m., and tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door.

Local Dubstep group DMZ and Everything’s Nice Productions have teamed up to bring the show to Bowling Green.

The event has more than 400 confirmed guests on Facebook so far.

Lough, who is with DMZ, said this is the biggest Dubstep show to ever come here.

“He is one of the top three producers right now in the genre of Dubstep,” Lough said. “He makes the tracks that you hear other DJs play.”

Lough credits Christ Mironescu of Everything’s Nice Productions with bringing the idea of Borgore to DMZ.

“Over the summer he contacted us and asked us if we’d be interested on collaborating for a few shows in the area,” Lough said. “We started planning and it kind of went from there.”

Lough predicts the show will bring in an audience from all parts of Kentucky.

“I think there’s a significant amount of people coming in from Lexington and Louisville,” he said. “Borgore is a big name. This is his nearest show for a long way.”

Central City sophomore Seth Dukes will be attending the show with several of his friends, and is excited to see Borgore as well as local DJs.

“He’s reinvented the genre of Dubstep,” he said. “It’s completely different than anything we’ve conventionally considered Dubstep.”

Georgetown sophomore J.D. Biddle got his ticket today.

“My sister bought me a ticket,” Biddle said. “I really wanted to go, but I was broke, so she bought me one as a late birthday present. I’m ready to have an awesome time. It’s going to be sick. He’s off the hook.”
