Senior outfielder Kory Petri was arrested last Saturday and charged with public intoxication in WKU’s Chestnut lot.

Saturday marked Petri’s second arrest by campus police this fall. He was also arrested Sept. 18 in the Chestnut lot and charged with public intoxication.

Senior Associate Athletic Director Todd Stewart issued a statement on Tuesday saying that “as a matter of athletic department policy, we are handling this internally.”

Petri was issued a fine and will not have to appear in court, according to the Warren County Regional Jail.

There were no apparent suspensions following Petri’s first arrest, as he was out with the WKU baseball team practicing during the first week of fall practice. The Toppers begin their inter-squad World Series at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Denes Field.
