WKU 14,Troy 28 – Final Jakes’ pass intended for Murphee falls incomplete on 4th and Goal at the 7. WKU finishes Taggart’s first season with a 2-10 record. Rainey will come up short of the WKU single-season rushing record.

WKU 14, Troy 28 – 2:00 4th quarter Jakes with a 10-yard scramble setting up 1st and Goal at the Troy 6.

WKU 14, Troy 28 – 5:08 4th quarter Troy running back Shawn Southward goes up the middle for a 2-yard touchdown run. Troy converts the two-point conversion.

WKU 14, Troy 20 – 9:39 4th quarter Another Hendrix Brakefield punt for WKU. Jakes still hasn’t completed a pass this half.

WKU 14, Troy 20 – 12:39 4th quarter Robinson connects with Reeves for his second touchdown of the day. This one was a 47-yard bomb. However, the Trojans miss the extra point attempt.

WKU 14, Troy 14 – 13:06 4th quarter. Taggart calls a Rainey run on 3rd and 11 deep in WKU territory. Rainey stopped at the 12. Now Demetrius Coley looks to have a left ankle or leg injury. Jim Murphree is now WKU’s only healthy tight end.

WKU 14,Troy 14 – End of the 3rd quarter. Troy is proving why it is the most-penalized team in the entire Football Bowl Subdivision. Two consecutive penalties have backed the Trojans into a 3rd and 21 on the WKU 42.

WKU 14, Troy 14 – 6:42 3rd quarter. Both teams are swapping punts right now. Jakes is struggling big time: 6 of 13 for 29 yards and an interception.

WKU 14, Troy 14 – Halftime. Tied game at the half. Willie Taggart to WKU Radio Network’s Scott Thompson: “Our passing game is very lethargic. Our receivers have to catch the ball. Our quarterbacks have to throw the ball.”

WKU 14, Troy 14 – 1:48 2nd quarter. Misaalefua knocks down a Robinson pass on 4th and 6. WKU ball at its own 35-yard line looking to get the lead before halftime.

WKU 14, Troy 14 – 8:55 2nd quarter. Troy’s Corey Robinson finds Chip Reevs in the end zone for a 38-yard touchdown to tie the game at 14. Also, WKU defensive tackle Kenny Martin looks to be done for the day with an ankle injury.

WKU 14, Troy 7 – 2nd quarter. Orlando Misaalefua recovers a bad sanp and gives WKU the ball at the Troy 30. Then Jakes throws an interception in the end zone intended for Dexter Haynes. Troy ball at its own 25.

WKU 14, Troy 7 – 14:07 2nd quarter. Bobby Rainey with a 5-yard touchdown run, his second of the day. The drive was set up by safety Kareem Peterson’s first career interception. Jakes is back under center for WKU.

WKU 7, Troy 7 – End of the 1st quarter. WKU quarterback Kawaun Jakes has been replaced by backup Matt Pelesasa after Jakes took a big hit. WKU trainers are looking at Jakes’ left shoulder.

WKU 7, Troy 7 – 4:09 1st quarter. Troy running back Chris Anderson ties the game with a 9-yard touchdown run.

WKU 7, Troy 0 – 6:41 1st quarter. Bobby Rainey runs for a 10-yard touchdown on a fourth=and-one. Rainey already has 87 yards on the ground and just moved into second place on the all-time single-season rushing list.

WKU 0, Troy 0. Casey Tinius misses a 46-yard field goal wide right. Tinius is now just 6-of-15 for the year.

We’re about ten minutes from kickoff between the WKU Hilltoppers (2-9, 2-5 Sun Belt Conference) and the Troy Trojans (5-5, 4-2). Troy is a 13-point favorite, but WKU has won its last two road games. Follow along with the Herald’s live coverage.
