The WKU soccer team (6-5-2, 4-2) was able to salvage its weekend trip to Florida on Sunday with a 1-0 win over Florida Atlantic (4-9-0, 3-3 Sun Belt).

This comes after a Friday loss at FIU.

Freshman defender Katrina Ott sent a corner kick from Lindsay Williams into the net in the 37th minute of Sunday’s contest.

Williams was credited with the assist on the goal, which was the first of Ott’s WKU career.

The Lady Toppers outshot the home-standing FAU squad, 20-6, posting half of those on goal.

Williams and sophomore midfielder Sydney Sisler tied for the team lead with two shots on goal.

Junior goalkeeper Libby Stout was forced to make just one save during the shutout.
