The Bowling Green Daily News reported on Thursday that San Antonio, Texas, guard Alexis Govan has committed as part of WKU’s 2011 class.

After her visit last weekend, Govan, a 5-8 guard, chose the Lady Toppers over Boston College, Oregon State and Southern Mississippi, according to the Daily News.

She is the second Texas recruit in Head Coach Mary Taylor Cowles’ 2011 class, joining Liberty Christian School’s Summer Fife. Franklin-Simpson’s Chastity Gooch and Pulaski Southwestern guard Danay Fothergill have also announced verbals.

WKU cannot officially comment on Govan until she signs a Letter of Intent. The NCAA’s Early Period begins in November.
