Music blasted from speakers as models strutted down the runway in their business best in the Garrett Ballroom Thursday night.

About 150 people attended Alpha Kappa Psi’s second fashion show entitled “Project Workplace.”

The purpose of event was to show students how they should dress in the business world after they graduate, said Raemia Higgins, a junior from Henderson and member of Alpha Kappa Psi, a co-ed business fraternity.

Higgins organized the event with the help of other fraternity members.

Admission was $2 and $1 for those who brought a canned good.

All proceeds and donations go to Potter Children’s Home in Bowling Green.

Higgins said Dillard’s provided all the clothing used in the show and let models choose anything from the store.

Louisville sophomore Quentin Crowe said employers look for clean-cut, well-spoken individuals and that it’s beneficial for students to learn how to dress appropriately for the business world.

Some of the looks included business suits, button-ups, suspenders and bow ties for the gentlemen.

The ladies wore pencil skirts, dressy tops with blazers and high heels.

All the models in the show were members of the fraternity or WKU students.

Brittany Clements, senior from Evansville, Ind. and president of Alpha Kappa Psi, helped Higgins organize the event.

She said that when students go in for interviews, they need to look the part, so employers will see that they’re serious about the job.
