Food, fun in DUC

Looking for something to do on a lonely night? Campus Activities Board has an answer.

Once a month, CAB’s Recreation Floor Committee hosts an event on the fourth floor of Downing University Center. There is food, bowling, pool or even a movie all at no cost to students, but $5 for anyone else.

This month, the event was Livin’ it Up in College, held Friday night.

The fourth floor was filled with people varying in age, playing pool, bowling and talking to friends. A table was set up to offer chips, cookies, drinks and sandwiches. CAB showed the movie “School Daze.”

Jennifer Atrip, the Recreation Floor chair, and Azurdee Garland, CAB assistant, were in charge of the event.

“There is usually a good turnout, but it varies,” Atrip said.

CAB will have three more programs like this before the end of the semester.

There will be a fall festival in October, a charity fund-raiser in November and an end-of-the-year bash in December, complete with a band.
