Social Security forum to be held tomorrow

A Social Security forum will be held at 8:45 p.m. tomorrow at the Carroll Knicely Conference Center.

Registration begins at 8 p.m.

U.S. Rep. Ron Lewis and Ron Tysinger, Atlanta deputy regional commissioner, will be the speakers at the forum titled, “Ticket to Work.”

Topics discussed will include Social Security and Medicare trust funds, basics of Social Security, Medicare and supplemental security income, Medicare and Medicaid resources, saving for retirement, preventing fraud and abuse, and opportunities for work incentives for the disabled.

University, hospital make partnership

TJ Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow is partnering with Western to increase the number of health care employees in the city by paying the salary and benefits of a full clinical instructor at the Glasgow campus.

Having the instructor will allow Western to enroll 10 more students into the nursing program this fall.
