Nappy Roots returns today with its second album, “Wooden Leather.”

The Bowling Green-based band will be at FYE in Greenwood Mall at 6 p.m. to sign autographs and promote the album.

Last year FYE had a similar event after the release of Nappy Roots’ first album, “Watermelon, Chicken, and Gritz.”

Jeff Sweeney, general manager for FYE, said that he was not prepared for the pandemonium that followed the group the first time around.

“We actually have police involved this time, and we’re going to set up the lines differently,” Sweeney said. “Last year, the lines didn’t work out and people just bum rushed the store.”

Denice Arthur, store manager of CD Warehouse on Campbell Lane, said she is anxious to see the customer response at her store. CD Warehouse was not open when “Watermelon, Chicken and Gritz” was released, but Arthur said this time it wants “a piece of the pie.”

“Right now I’ve ordered 100 copies,” she said. “When we run out, I’m going to put in another order midweek.”
