Too Much Time

Over a month ago I was walking home from the Preston Center when out of the corner of my eye I caught one of the many sidewalk chalk signs that grace our beautiful campus. This on stated, “Saddam Loves You.” Needless to say I had had to take another look to see if what I thought I saw was real. Unfortunately my first impression was correct. Do the people who write these slogans have too much time on their hands? Are they bored? Or did they just run out of pages in their coloring books and decide among them to color Western’s campus. It simply confuses me beyond belief at some of the statements I see on a day to day basis. One more liberal slogan that really made me laugh just based on the fact that whoever wrote it thought they would be funny was, “If a hornet stings you and you kill it, does it make the pain go away?” I would like to answer it by saying no it doesn’t but it makes me feel a hell of a lot better knowing that it won’t sting me again. And just one more note. President Bush is not pro-war, nor has he ever been pro-war. However, if you think by protesting with anti-war signs is going to stop Saddam Hussein from developing chemical and biological weapons, then I’m sorry to tell you that you are living in a dream sickle world. Make no mistake, Pres. Bush does not wish to go to war, but will if and only if it is the last resort in protecting the United States.
