Glasgow freshman Derek Brauer plays short tunes on a string bass Wednesday afternoon on the third floor of the fine arts center. Brauer, a biology major and music minor, tried to figure out how to play some of the songs he plays on his electric bass, but he had a hard time finding the octaves on the 15-pound, 6-foot tall instrument.
