Dear Editor,

I am in the process of developing a cookbook celebrating Kentucky and its celebrities. Some examples of recipes we have are Boone Tavern,Cumberland Gap National Park, Steve Finley (Arizona Diamondbacks), Wynona Judd, KY Derby Museum, KY Horse Park, writer Bobbie Ann Mason, Sen. Mitch McConnell, Gov. Actress Julie Parrish, Paul Patton, Penn Store, Speed Museum, Lily Tomlin (she spent summers in Western Kentucky with her grandmother), and Toyota Motor Co. in Georgetown.

The purpose of this project is to help publicize and promote Kentucky tourism, business, industry, government leaders, and most of all the famous celebrities who were born or live in Kentucky.

I would like for your readers associated with businesses, tourist attractions, if they are close relative (example Grandmother or grandson) of a celebrity (example: The late Vice-president Alben Barkley’s granddaughter sent a recipe) to send me your favorite recipe and a brief statement about why you like it. (Was it something special made by your mother, spouse, or another relative.)? If you love to cook tell why it is your favorite dish.

We have had difficulty in finding information and contacts on former Olympic Winners and Professional Sports figures, who were born or attended school in Kentucky .

Thank you so much for helping me with this project. There is no charge for this. I just want people to know what a wonderful place Kentucky is. If you could send the recipe or information within the next 30 days I would greatly appreciate it.

We have been working on this project for approximately 3 months and have received over 125 recipes from various Celebrities, Artist, Sports Figures, Political Leaders, Major Businesses, and Tourist Attractions in and from Kentucky.
