Dollar General executive to speak Thursday
Cal Turner Jr., chairman and chief executive officer of Dollar General Stores, and the first Hays Watkins Visiting CEO Professor, will speak at a luncheon at the Sloan Convention Center at noon Thursday.
The luncheon is sponsored by the Gordon Ford College of Business and the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce.
The cost of the luncheon is $10.

News director receives award
The recipient of the 2002 Barry Bingham Memorial Media Award is Dan Moldin, news director for Western’s Public Radio Service.
Presented by the Kentucky Psychiatric Association, the award was given for”excellent coverage of mental illness issues” in a two-part series Moldin produced and anchored, “A Question for the Courts.”
It is the second straight year he has won the award.
