The Conference-USA league office announced on Monday that redshirt senior Paige Carter had earned a place on the 2021 Conference USA Softball All-Academic Team after completing her WKU Master’s degree in Recreation Sport Administration with a 4.0 GPA. Carter also earned her Bachelor’s at WKU in Sport Management.

The Crown Point, Indiana native has impressed both in the classroom and on the field this semester. Carter led the Hilltoppers in hits (50), walks (24) and home runs (11) throughout the regular season and slashed .382/.478./.763, leading the team in all three metrics. Carter’s team-best 17 doubles is also a WKU single-season program record.

Carter has spent seven semesters on the WKU President’s List and one on the Dean’s List and is the fifth Hilltopper to earn All-Academic Team honors since WKU joined C-USA in 2015, joining Kelsey McGuffin (2018), Kathryn Downing (2017), Jordan Mauch (2016) and Preslie Cruce (2015).
