WKU Commencement activities were announced for the Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 graduates on Wednesday.

The Fall 2021 College Recognition Ceremonies will be held Saturday, Dec. 11, 2021. The Spring 2022 Topper Walk and Commencement will be held Thursday, May 5, 2022, with the College Recognition Ceremonies held on Friday, May 6, 2022.

An email was sent out from the Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs, Robert Fischer, following conversations among the registrar, Council of Deans and the President’s Cabinet.

“I realize the timing of these activities represents a departure from our typical Spring schedule, but this shift is based on substantial feedback from our students and families concerning overlap with Kentucky Derby events,” Fischer said.

Graduates are encouraged to submit the graduation application on Topnet to ensure they will receive announcements in a timely manner as well as providing WKU with information regarding the process of receiving their diploma.

The online application will allow graduates to submit and pay the $50 graduation fee, which will process and expedite their application. The fee covers the cost of mailing their diploma and their cap and gown once all degree requirements are met.

A complete schedule of events and additional information for both Fall and Spring can be found at the WKU Commencement website.
