Abdelgawad and Meredith win both C-USA Player of the Week Awards

Conference USA announced Monday that senior guard Meral Abdelgawad has won her second C-USA Player of the Week award this season while freshman guard Mya Meredith was named C-USA freshman of the week. 

Abdelgawad scored a career high of 36 points against Southern Miss on Thursday night, her third 30-point game of the season. Two days later against Louisiana Tech, she came away with her third double-double of the season. 

Meredith also came away with a career high against Southern Miss with 24 points before shooting 4-of-5 from three and scoring 14 points with a career best eight rebounds against La Tech. 

Abdelgawad and Meredith will be back on the court on Jan. 8 against the FIU Panthers. Tip-off is scheduled for noon CT.
