Zappe invited to 2022 NFL Combine

He becomes the third Hilltopper quarterback in program history to attend the event.

WKU quarterback Bailey Zappe was invited to the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine on Friday morning. 

Zappe broke the FBS single-season passing yards and touchdowns record in his lone season on the Hill. He led the Hilltoppers to a 9-5 record and a spot in the Conference USA Championship game.

He was also named Conference USA Most Valuable Player for his record-setting year. He became the third Hilltopper quarterback to be invited to the combine and the eighth Hilltopper in total to attend since the program entered FBS play in 2009. Brandon Doughty and Mike White received invites in 2016 and 2018 respectively.

Zappe will be one of 300 prospects attending Lucas Oil Stadium from March 1-7 to showcase his skills. He will also show off his arm in the Reese’s Senior Bowl Game on Jan. 30 at 2:30 CT.
