WKU Opportunity Fund – Emergency Student Assistance
WKU Opportunity Fund collects donations for students in a variety of financial situations. The Emergency Student Assistance fund, through the Opportunity Fund, goes to help students impacted by the tornado. Donations can be sent here.
The WKU Food Pantry, located at 503 Regents Ave., is open from noon to 5 p.m. and is currently accepting donations.
The Stuff the Bus Foundations ensures school children in Southern Kentucky are provided with necessary materials like books, backpacks, pencils and more. Donations can be sent here.
Red Cross blood drive dates and times in Bowling Green can be found on their website.
The blood drives are being held at Holiday Inn University Plaza & Sloan Convention Center, located at 1021 Wilkinson Trace. The blood drive is open from 10:30 a.m to 4:30 p.m.
A FEMA disaster recovery center has been set up in the former Sears outlet at the Greenwood Mall at 2625 Scottsville Road. Request assistance or check your FEMA status over the phone at 1-800-621-3362.
Those seeking help can apply for disaster assistance, find a meeting with a small business administration agent and obtain housing and rental assistance at FEMA disaster recovery centers. Disaster unemployment assistance is offered to those that are not eligible for regular state unemployment insurance.
Anyone seeking help from FEMA must register on or before Feb. 11. All disaster recovery centers will be closed on Jan. 17 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Counseling services are available through the Hope Center free of charge. They can also be reached at 270-901-5000 if individuals need to schedule in-person or telehealth visits.
