WKU sophomore guard Dayvion McKnight was named Conference USA Player of the Week on Monday afternoon for his performances against Southern Mississippi, Charlotte and Old Dominion.

McKnight averaged 23.7 points on 59% shooting while grabbing 5.7 rebounds and adding 3.7 assists during the week. Not only was he able to hit the midrange shot at a high rate, he made 17-of-20 free throws.

McKnight has played the ironman role this past week with the Hilltoppers playing with a short bench. He played 116-of-120 possible minutes in three games.

He started the week scoring 26 points, grabbing seven boards and adding five assists in a road win at Southern Miss on Monday night. Three days later, he followed that up with a 22-point game in a Thursday victory over Charlotte. He ended the week with 23 points and seven rebounds, playing the full 40 minutes in a victory over Old Dominion on Saturday.

This is McKnight’s second award of the season and WKU’s third overall of the year.
