The WKU Dance Company is presenting an Evening of Dance in the Russell Miller Theatre in the Ivan Wilson Center for Fine Arts. The show will be through April 21 to 24, with Thursday through Saturday’s shows starting at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday’s show starts at 2 p.m., with tickets at $16 for adults, and $12 for students and seniors.

The show itself will feature an array of works choreographed by WKU Dance Faculty and nationally-acclaimed guest artists, ranging from a variety of music genres, being a mixture of jazz, ballet, modern and tap dance.

The show is the WKU Dance Company’s main stage event of the semester, with a more concert-style show than their fall show

“Each individual piece has their own meaning; there is a level of artistry throughout the entire show.”” Sophia Jones, a dance major, said. “I hope [audiences] gain an understanding of what it’s like to be dancing in college and what dancing in college actually entails. We hope the audience gains an appreciation for concert-style dance.”

Through the dance program, Jones has been able to gain a great deal of friends, with her classes presenting mentors and teachers that care about their students as individuals and as a group, Jones said.
