WKU Softball was handed a 7-0 loss at home, April 24 by the no.12 Arkansas Razorbacks.

The loss brings the Hilltoppers season record to 25-20. WKU has dropped two straight after winning two in a row.

The Hilltoppers offense struggled against the Razorbacks, recording only five hits in the contest. Despite the lack of team offense, senior TJ Webster recorded two hits.

Senior pitcher Katie Gardner picked up her 14th loss of the season. Gardner pitched 3.1 innings and allowed five runs, four of which were earned, on six hits.

Both offenses were silent through the first three innings. Arkansas got the scoring started in the fourth with a five-run inning. The Razorbacks scored on a three-run home run, a solo homer and an RBI double to take a 5-0 lead.

The Razorbacks then added to their lead with a fielder’s choice RBI in the fifth to make it 6-0.

Arkansas then capped off its performance with an RBI single in the sixth that led to a 7-0 victory for the Razorbacks.

The Hilltoppers will look to bounce back this weekend when they head to FIU for a three game series April 28-30.
