WKU Baseball falls to EKU by 15

WKU Baseball (27-22) lost in blowout fashion to the Eastern Kentucky University Colonels (26-24) 16-1 Tuesday, May 9 at Nick Denes Field. 

EKU jumped out to an early lead with a three run bomb in the top of the second. 

EKU continued to put the hurt on the Hilltoppers, bringing home six in the top half of third to make it 9-0. 

Freshman Lukas Farris brought home the only WKU run in the bottom of the third with an RBI fielder’s choice, 9-1. 

EKU brought home another seven runs in the fourth making it 16-1. 

The game was called after seven innings as EKU took home the 16-1 win

WKU will look to bounce back in their three game series against the Rice Owls May 12-14 at Nick Denes Field.
