Isenbarger claims gold at C-USA Championship

WKU two-sport athlete, Katie Isenbarger, took home the C-USA Outdoor High Jump Championship Sunday, May 14 at the C-USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Denton, Texas.

Isenbarger secured the gold with an impressive 1.79 meter jump. This is Isenbarger’s second gold medal of the 2023 season as she also took home gold in the C-USA Indoor Track Championships in the same event. 

Sophomore Zackery Martinez also had a great showing at the championship. Martinez won bronze in the 400 meter hurdle and gave WKU six points with his 52.95 second finish. 

Overall, WKU’s men’s team collected 25 points to finish ninth in the championships while the women’s team scored 24 to finish 10th.
