The Kentucky Grand Hotel will host a Haunted Hotel night attraction from October 19 through Halloween, and taking a brief break from October 23 through October 25.

“We’ve converted the first two floors of the hotel into a haunted hotel attraction encompassing a story about a bridesmaid who’s wedding, unfortunately, wasn’t able to happen due to unforeseen circumstances,” Ali Zia, general manager of the hotel, said.

This year is the first year that the hotel is doing the event, with a great deal of advertising being done across several media outlets, Zia said.

“We’re hoping for a huge turnout,” Zia siad. “We’ve been on WBKO, we’ve done a lot of [advertising] on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and got great social media responses. So, we’re hoping people come, enjoy it, and give us ideas for next year.”

Haunted Hotel guests will be assigned to the first and second floor, with regular hotel guests being assigned to the third and fourth floors, Zia said.

“Anyone who’s been to a haunted house [attraction] before, a haunted mansion, haunted woods, it’s a lot like that, but we have the luxury of already having a backdrop of the most beautiful hotel in downtown Bowling Green,” Zia said. “We’re really going to play to the historic build of the building. We think people are really going to enjoy it.”

Zia said that all ages are welcome to the event, and that parents “know their kids best,” when it comes to horror attractions.

“We just hope people enjoy it, and have something fun to do in the downtown area,” Zia said. “All over downtown Bowling Green, so many great businesses have been trying to put things together, like the Harvest Festival that happened last weekend. We’re just trying to bring more tourism, more community togetherness to the downtown area, and give people a fun thing to do.”

The attraction will be held at 635 College Street, next to the Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center, with tickets being $25 per person, and can be purchased online.
