— Exceptional drought: 23 sq. mi.; 1,072 people

Iowa is currently facing conditions ranging from abnormally dry to extreme drought. Farms are suffering as a result: Crop yields are low and there are commodity shortages. Between August 2011 and June 2014, the state suffered through nearly three years of drought for 151 weeks straight.
