Student Activities is running a donation drive for WKU’s Food Pantry from now until March 15.
The WKU Food Pantry is a resource provided by the Office of Sustainability that allows students, staff and campus partners at WKU to acquire an assortment of foods and toiletries.
Each month, Student Activities partners with a “Volunteer in Progress” to help pull local donations from all around Bowling Green. This month, the department is working with “Feed the Need”, a program created by The United Way.
“Grab-and-go snacks are always needed. Things like pasta and other non-perishable foods are a big help,” Amelia Kolb, assistant director of student activities leadership & volunteerism, said.
Students can obtain one service hour for every three items they donate to the cause by bringing their goods to room 2059 in the Downing Student Union.
“It’s nice to connect students with a drive that will directly impact the WKU community. We’ve collected donations for various causes and it’s always just nice to have our students be a part of that,” Kolb said.
