The Student Government Association will partner with WKU Red Wave to host one last tailgate for this school year on Tuesday, April 9 from 4-7 p.m. on the South Lawn featuring performances from the winners of the “Battle of the DJs.”

The “Battle of the DJs” was held as a social media poll on SGA’s Instagram over the weekend, to choose four participants to DJ at the tailgate. Wilson Patterson, “DJ WLZN,” a sophomore elementary education major, was the first place overall winner in the competition and was awarded a $500 scholarship. Patterson will DJ at 6 p.m. as the last performance, after the other three DJ winners.

“I am so blessed to participate in this event,” Patterson said. “I would like to thank everyone who has supported me.”

SGA Student Body President Sam Kurtz sent an email to all students on Monday, April 1 to provide information for the pregame for the baseball game against the University of Louisville.

“I found myself thinking back on the tailgating season, and wishing we could have one more,” Kurtz said. “Let’s come together, Hilltopper community, to cheer on our talented baseball team and savor one last tailgate of the 2023-2024 school year.”

The baseball game begins at 3 p.m. at the Nick Denes Field.

“SGA will be firing up the grill as well, so come hungry!“ Kurtz said.
