WKU Baseball picked up another midweek victory, April 16, at the University of Southern Indiana in a 2-1 battle.
The Hilltoppers traveled to Evansville, Indiana for the contest and pulled out their third straight midweek victory.
The matchup between WKU and USI marks the second of the season between the two teams, WKU has claimed victories in each contest.
WKU has now won five of their last six matchups and sits at 26-12 on the season.
The Hilltoppers jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the second inning on a solo homer by junior Blake Cavill.
A bases loaded hit by pitch in the fifth helped WKU extend its lead to 2-0.
USI cut the deficit to 2-1 in the eighth inning on an RBI double.
The Hilltoppers only managed two hits in the contest but drew three walks, en route to two runs.
Senior Lane Diuguid helped lead WKU to victory with five and two thirds innings of solid work on the mound. Diuguid allowed no runs and struck out four.
WKU will host Liberty University April 19-21 in a three-game series at Nick Denes Field.
