The British Royal Family Fan Club hosted trivia and games Wednesday evening in the Downing Student Union.
The club was founded by Ella Tabor, a sophomore communications and public relations major and Rosie Ribble, a senior corporate and organizational communications and public relations major, in May because of their shared love and fascination with the British Monarchy.
The two thought of the idea last semester as a joke that evolved into the club it is now, according to Ribble. The first meeting was a group watch of the Netflix series “The Crown.” Tabor said that at the time they were still figuring out what the club would be, but now they have a better idea of what it is.
The night began with Kahoot trivia about the royal family and relevant British history The first and second-place competitors got a Target and Chick-fil-A gift card, respectively.
After taking a quiz about which British royal they are, attendees discussed the results with each other. Queen Elizabeth and Princess Kate Middleton were roughly tied for most people with Meghan Markle coming in a distant third. Prince Harry and Prince William had small groups and some people were the sole representatives of their Royal like one participant who got Princess Beatrice of York.
Ribble she said her favorite royal is Princess Anne.
“She’s an only daughter and so am I,” Ribble said.
Tabor said her favorite royal is either Princess Kate or Princess Diana.
“She was everything,” Ribble said about Princess Diana.
