In a bounce-back game Tuesday, WKU Men’s Basketball managed to take down the Campbellsville Tigers 104-76 at Diddle Arena.
Thanks in part to a massive game from Khristian Lander with 23 points, the Hilltoppers came out on top.
“On the offensive side of the floor we played pretty well,” Head Coach Hank Plona said, “I hope we start building some momentum for what we think could be a special season for us.”
The Hilltoppers controlled the lead for 92% of the game and apart from a few minutes in the second half, the Tigers could not find a groove.
After allowing seven unanswered in the middle of the second half the Hilltoppers got back in the groove offensively. Both teams traded threes for the entirety of the second half.
Freshman guard Julius Thedford had a breakout game with five threes and 16 points.
“Julius does not lack confidence,” Plona said, “Julius’s upside is through the roof.”
The Hilltoppers hope to maintain their momentum Sunday, as they stay home to play Lipscomb. Tip is set for 2 p.m.
