All campus building heat will be off Wednesday, Dec. 4 starting at 6 a.m. to repair an “emergency steam leak,” according to an email sent by Facilities Management Business Operations Manager Angie Jackson to faculty and staff Tuesday afternoon.
No other information about the steam leak was shared. The email urged faculty and staff to call the facilities management office with questions less than 30 minutes before it closed for the day.
The Weather Channel shows the temperature in the early morning to be in the low 30s.
Housing & Residence Life sent a similar email shortly after, recommending residents to keep windows closed to retain heat during the outage.
“Buildings should be able to hold heat until noon,” Jackson said in the email. “We anticipate to re-energize the lines before 1 p.m.”
