WKU Men’s Basketball will travel to Las Cruces, New Mexico Saturday to take on the New Mexico State Aggies.
The Hilltoppers are 7-8 in Conference USA as they head into their final road game of the regular season.
“Trying to get a couple of wins,” Head Coach Hank Plona said when asked about the current road stretch.
The Hilltoppers won their first game of the road stand, an 80-73 victory over the UTEP Miners. Graduate guard Tyrone Marshall Jr. led the team with 16 points.
The Aggies are coming off a five-point home loss to the MTSU Blue Raiders. Senior guard Christian Cook led the Aggies against the Blue Raiders with 24 points.
NMSU sits at the bottom of CUSA in scoring, averaging 65.5 a game while also shooting just an average of 40% from the field which is last in the conference.
The Hilltoppers will be shorthanded against the Aggies. Along with injuries from Faye and Thedford, Enoch Kalambay has not been traveling with the team on the final road stand.
The lack of depth stemming from a season of injury resulted in elevated minutes for Jaylen Dorsey and Jack Edelen, who tied his career-high in points (11) against UTEP.
Tipoff is at 5 p.m. and the game is being streamed on ESPN+.
