WKU Men’s Basketball secured its first player from the transfer portal Thursday, aiding a guard room that has seen three players enter the portal since it opened on March 24.
Junior guard Cam Haffner, who played the last two seasons as an Evansville Ace, announced on X and Instagram he is making the trip to Bowling Green. With guards Don McHenry, Julius Thedford, and Enoch Kalambay entering the portal, and seniors Tyler Olden and Jaylen Dorsey graduating, Haffner joins the Hilltoppers amidst a roster reload.
The 6-foot-2 guard averaged 12.7 points per game this past season including breakout games against the Green Bay Phoenix on Nov. 22, scoring 27, and Belmont on Jan. 18, scoring 25.
Haffner scored 19 points against the Hilltoppers on Dec 7, a game in which he played all 40 minutes. He also scored 16 against MTSU on Nov. 13.
Prior to his 2024-2025 season, Haffner played at Eastern Illinois where he earned the 2023 Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Year.
Haffner averaged 7.5 points per game through his freshman campaign, before transferring to Evansville for his sophomore season, averaging 4.7 points a game.
