Midnight on the Hill (MOTH), a fundraiser to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, is returning to the Hill.
MOTH will feature games, a Silent Disco, karaoke, free dinner, energy drinks, Dutch Bros, a SmashCar and a raffle Friday at 5:30 p.m. in the Preston Center.
According to MOTH’s director Abbi Young, a senior biology major, MOTH originally started as “Up til Dawn” 25 years ago. The group is now recognized as MOTH and is accredited with raising over $300,000 toward St. Jude’s.
The organization hosts events throughout the year leading up to the finale in the spring.
“MOTH works to bring college students together to fund St. Jude’s lifesaving work so that no family worries about medical expenses while caring for a sick child,” Young said.
According to the event’s website, MOTH has raised over $80,000 of their $100,000 goal and are hoping to earn even more at the finale this week. At St. Jude, just a $100 donation can help to cover two-thirds of the cost of physical therapy, and support helps ensure that families never receive a bill.
“Midnight on the Hill is more than just an event, it’s a movement,” Young said. “A chance for students to make a tangible difference in the lives of children at St. Jude is a reward beyond words, one that leaves a lasting impact on everyone involved.”

“Whether you’re passionate about service, looking to connect with others, or simply want to be a part of something meaningful, Midnight on the Hill is an experience that will stay with you long after the night ends,” Young said.
