WKU Softball will take its two-game winning streak into its fifth Conference USA series at Kennesaw State University April 4-6.
The Hilltoppers hosted Louisiana Tech this past weekend and walked away with two wins. WKU also defeated Lipscomb 8-3 in Nashville on Tuesday. The Hilltoppers are 18-15 overall and eighth in CUSA with a 4-7 conference record.
Sophomore pitcher Rylan Smith leads the Hilltoppers from the circle. In the last four games, sheโs pitched a total of 15 innings and struck out 12 total batters. She also leads CUSA in batters struck out looking with 31.
KSU has yet to win a CUSA series and has a losing streak of 10. The Owls are 0-12 in CUSA and 9-27 on the season. WKU last faced KSU in Feb. 2021 when the Owls were still in the Atlantic Sun Conference.
Some key KSU players include sophomore infielder Ava Guzowski and freshman outfielder Ana Gore. Guzowski leads the Owls in batting average (.292), hits (31) and home runs (four). Gore leads the team in RBIs (19) and doubles (11).
The first pitch of the three-day series is scheduled for 5 p.m. Friday.
