WKU Men’s Basketball secured its second transfer Wednesday after forward Louie Semona announced his commitment to the Hilltoppers with an X post.
Semona, the Cincinnati native, led Stonehill University of the Northeast Conference with 13.2 points per game on 46.4% shooting from the field. He grabbed 4.6 rebounds and dished out 1.5 assists per game. The 6-foot-8 forward improved in all areas offensively, bringing his points per game up from 4.5 as a freshman to 13.4 last season.
Last season, Semona scored 20 points or more eight times and scored 30 points or more twice. His season high came in the Skyhawks’ season finale on March 1, where he scored 33 points on 10-17 shooting from the field and a 5-8 clip from beyond the arc. His other 30-point performance came on Feb. 15 when he scored 30 points and grabbed five rebounds.
With three forwards leaving the Hill — seniors Babacar Faye and Fallou Diagne, and graduate Tyrone Marshall Jr. — Semona brings relief to a backcourt losing lots of experience. Semona comes in with two years of eligibility.
