WKU Men’s Basketball senior guard Braxton Bayless will enter the transfer portal according to an X post Monday from A&P Sports Agency, continuing a trend of losses within the Hilltoppers’ guard room.
After a year at Indian Hills under Head Coach Hank Plona, Bayless transferred to the Niagra Purple Eagles, where he played for two seasons before committing to WKU and reuniting with Plona for his senior campaign.
The first year Hilltopper averaged 7.9 points and 3.2 rebounds per game. Despite coming off of the bench for most of the season, Bayless played significant minutes behind Don McHenry and Khristian Lander, averaging 22.5 a game.
Bayless had his breakout game as a Hilltopper in Diddle arena on Feb. 22 in a 64-63 Hilltopper victory over Louisiana Tech. Against the Bulldogs, Bayless shot 11-19 for a career-high 27 points including a late game-winning layup. His 46.7% field goal percentage was the best among Hilltopper guards.
