Michelle Tedder, a former office associate for the School of Nursing & Allied Health, died in her residence Thursday at 55 years old, according to her obituary.
Tedder worked at WKU from 2001 to 2024. She retired in November after 23 years with the university. She was a native of Belleville, Illinois, and graduated from Warren East High School in 1987 and WKU in 2013.
“Michelle was an avid puzzle lover, baker, Chicago Cubs fan, lover of all baseball, loved to travel, enjoyed time with friends and family, gardening, and a big fan of mornings on the porch,” the obituary stated.
“We are all saddened by Michelle’s untimely passing. She was a wonderful employee in the School of Nursing and Allied Health and the College of Health and Human Services and she will be missed,” said Dean Tania Basta in an email to the Herald.
The WKU School of Nursing & Allied Health posted an announcement on their Facebook page on Friday.
“She served with compassion, professionalism, and a deep commitment to help shape future healthcare professionals. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched,” the post stated. “Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and loved ones during this difficult time.”
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday at J.C. Kirby & Son Lover’s Lane Chapel. Funeral services will follow the visitation.
Expressions of sympathy can be sent to Toys for Tots or the WKU School of Nursing, according to the obituary.
