— Exceptional drought: 2,386 sq. mi. (2.3% of land area); 41,672 people (0.8% of population)

The entire state of Colorado is currently experiencing abnormally dry conditions, with moderate, severe or extreme drought hitting more than half the region. Last June, Colorado officials created a drought task force as an already bad drought got worse.
