What is the position?

  • News staff writes stories that tell the audience all the important things they need to know. They work within their assigned beat, call sources on their beat as often as necessary — to keep abreast of potential stories. They read other publications and look for stories concerning their beats. Besides contributing to the printed publication, they are responsible for contributing to online coverage.

Who should apply?

  • Students who are interested in learning how to cover a beat and write news stories that strengthen the coverage of WKU’s campus and beyond.

Why should you apply?

  • You are seeking a career that requires writing on deadlines. You want to be employable once you graduate and want to have fun while building your portfolio.
