Charles Bassey (23) embraces head coach Rick Stansbury after defeating 15th-ranked Wisconsin in Diddle Arena Dec. 29 in Bowling Green.

When the teams of the National Basketball Association gather on June 20 for the annual draft, one of the players available will be WKU center Charles Bassey, the WKU basketball program announced on Friday.

Bassey’s declaration follows a season in which he dominated the competition in Conference USA, being named Freshman of the Year and Defensive Player of the year while leading the league in double-doubles.

The program also announced that Bassey will not sign with an agent, maintaining his NCAA eligibility should he decide to return to school.
