WKU (23-0) won 3-2 against No. 15 Washington State (11-5) in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday evening. This is the first time in program history WKU and head coach Travis Hudson have advanced to play in the Sweet Sixteen.
WKU (22-0) took on Jackson State (11-1) Wednesday night in Omaha, Nebraska to kick off the Hilltoppers NCAA Volleyball Tournament play. This was the first time in program history these two teams have met.
The WKU volleyball program arrived at the NCAA Tournament on Sunday and will play in the first round Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. against Jackson State.
No. 19 WKU faced off against No. 24 Rice in the Conference USA Championship on Saturday afternoon. The Hilltoppers improved to 21-0 on the season and 14-0 in C-USA play, taking down the Owls 3-1 to claim the C-USA Championship. Rice ends the season with a 16-5 record and 12-1 C-USA record.
WKU faced off against UTEP in the semifinal of the Conference USA Championship on Friday afternoon. The Hilltoppers improved to 20-0 on the season and 13-0 in C-USA play taking down the Miners 3-0. UTEP ends the season with a 10-7 record and 8-5 C-USA record.
The nationally ranked No. 18 WKU volleyball program began the postseason today in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, where they took down the North Texas Mean Green 3-0 in the quarterfinals of the Conference USA Volleyball Championship.
Sophomore outside hitter Paige Briggs has been selected to be a part of the 2021 Conference USA Volleyball All-Academic Team, said Jessica Leifheit, Associate Director of Communications and Media Relations for WKU Athletics in a press release Tuesday.
