Health and Human Services appoints new chair of Department of Physical Therapy

WKU’s College of Health and Human Services announced Monday that Beth Norris, has been appointed as the Department of Physical Therapy chair.
According to a press release from WKU, Norris served as the interim chair of the Department of Physical Therapy since July 2018 and has worked at WKU for six years.
“Dr. Norris has done a fantastic job as Interim Chair of the Department of Physical Therapy this past year and I am confident her dedication to the program, department, and CHHS will serve us well in the upcoming years,” Tania Basta, Dean of the College of Health and Human Services said in the release. “The DPT program will be going through reaccreditation next year, Dr. Norris’s leadership and experience will be valuable throughout the entire process. I look forward to having her join the CHHS leadership team.”
Norris holds a doctorate in Health Sciences/Movement Science, bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy and master’s degree in Exercise Physiology. She has 29 years of experience predominantly in the field of outpatient orthopaedics and 10 years of experience in teaching exercise science and physical therapy at the university level, according to her biography on the Physical Therapy Faculty page on WKU’s website.
According to the site, she currently teaches Orthopaedic Rehabilitation, Spine Assessment and Intervention, Fundamentals of Therapeutic Exercise, and the Research Sequence I-III.
