WKU’s Associate Athletic Director for Communications and Media Relations Kyle Neaves will be leaving to go work at Colorado State University as the associate athletic director for communications starting July 22.

On Tuesday, Neaves released a thank you note to WKU on Twitter. In it, he informed followers that he would be wrapping up his time at WKU and pursuing another opportunity at a new university. He also thanked the people he had been working with for the past six years.

“As fans, you should be proud to wear the Red and White knowing the types of people who are representing your school every day,” Neaves said in the message. “I know I was, and I came to the office every day proud to wear those colors and be around these people.”

On Wednesday, Colorado State University announced via press release that Neaves would start working for the school as the associate athletic director for communications.

“This is an incredible opportunity, and I am thankful to director of athletics Joe Parker, Steve Cottingham and Chris Farris for putting their trust in me to continue elevating the Colorado State brand,” Neaves said in the press release. “There is an unmatched enthusiasm surrounding CSU, and I look forward to serving our student-athletes coaches and staff members.”

He continued on to thank the people he worked at WKU for their support of the athletic department and of him.

During his time on the Hill, he oversaw athletic communications during the football Conference USA championships of 2015 and 2016 and three back-to-back bowl championships in 2014, 2015 and 2016.

Colorado State is in the Mountain West Conference.
