Open forum cancelled for dean candidate
June 7, 2018
The open forum and interview for the next dean candidate in the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences has been cancelled for June 7. The cancellation was announced in an email to all faculty and staff from search committee co-chair and educational technology professor Marge Maxwell on June 6.
Doyin Coker-Kolo, who is the current dean of the School of Education at Indiana University Southeast, was announced on June 6 as the next candidate for the dean position in CEBS in an email to all faculty and staff from Maxwell.
Maxwell could not be reached for comment, and the reason for the cancellation was not provided in her email. Coker-Kolo has also been removed from the dean search webpage.
There will be an open forum for another unnamed dean candidate on June 11 at 2 p.m. in the Gary Ransdell Hall auditorium.
“The search committee invites members of the WKU community to participate in the process and provide feedback through the search website,” according to Maxwell’s email, which announced the two unnamed candidates on June 1.
The search for the next dean of CEBS began after former dean Sam Evans announced his retirement for June 30, 2018, after working at WKU for 28 years.
This is a developing story, so check back for updates.
