Stephen Mayer won the election as the next Student Government Association president and student regent, along with Garrett Edmonds as executive vice president and Harper Anderson as administrative vice president.

These results follow a reversed decision by the Judicial Council to suspend and no longer disqualify the MEA ticket. The decision to disqualify the ticket came on April 16 after a complaint was brought to the Judicial Council regarding the use of a Pepe the Frog meme drawn in chalk on campus sidewalks, as reported by the Herald.

Mayer received 35 percent of the votes, while presidential candidate Conner Hounshell received 33 percent and presidential candidate Kenan Mujkanovic received 32 percent. 2,378 students voted in the presidential election. 

Edmonds received 54 percent of the votes, compared to Savannah Molyneaux who received 46 percent. Anderson received 57 percent of the votes, compared to Kara Lowry who received 43 percent. 1,879 students voted in the executive vice presidential election and 1,825 voted in the administrative vice presidential election. 

Despite not being elected to executive board positions, Hounshell, Molyneaux, Lowry and Mujkanovic were all elected as senators. 

Anna McAvoy, whose campaign was also disqualified for using the Pepe the Frog meme, was elected as a senator at-large.

A total of 2,447 students voted in this year’s SGA elections, according to the Judicial Council’s results.
