Tomesha Perkins, 22, Louisville, Ky., cut her hair last October. It was the beginning of a “new her” and made herself better. It made her love her inner self more. Perkins is always getting looks when she wears her Bantu Knots. “I think people forget that Bantu Knots are not just for a pre curl,” she said. It doesn’t make Perkins feel any kind of way because she knows her hair is diverse. Her mother taught her that people only judge what they know nothing about. In Corporate America she hasn’t experienced discrimination.
