All cars in the construction zone of Creason Lot must be moved by 5 p.m. on Monday according to an email from Parking and Transportation Services.

In the email, PTS said the cars must be moved to allow construction on the new Parking Structure 3 to begin on Tuesday, October 4. The statement said if the cars in the construction zone are not moved by 5 p.m. on Monday, then they will be fined and relocated.

“This is an important project for campus that will serve you, the students, but we will experience growing pains during construction,” the email said.

In the email, PTS provided alternative parking options for students affected by the construction. C1 permit holders will be able to park in the Russellville Road West parking lot, the South Campus lot and the Campbell Lane lot. All of those lots are served by the Topper Transit bus system. PTS said students who choose to use the South Campus and Campbell Lane Lots should allow 30 minutes to reach their destination.

For the week of October 3, students with a C1 permit will also be allowed to park in the Alumni Square Garage. In the email, PTS said there are 50 Alumni Square Garage permits available, and students with a C1 permit who want to use the Alumni Square Garage for the rest of the semester can pay to upgrade their permit.

“If you are interested in upgrading to an AC permit, bring your C1 permit to the Parking and Transportation Office,” the email said.

According to the email, one alternative for campus residents who use the Creason Lot is to park in the Russellville Road Lot. For residents who have any permit besides an H9 permit, PTS said they should park in a different lot that corresponds to their parking permit.

Throughout this time, the Creason Bus Stop will also be closed.

Once completed, the parking structure will add over 500 parking spots. The structure will also have a stop for the Topper Transit bus system.
