ATLANTA, Ga. — A week after splitting snaps with sophomore Nelson Fishback in the first quarter, junior Brandon Doughty is expected to get the start today against Georgia State.

Fishback got the start last Saturday against Troy. He played the first two series’ and finished 2-of-3 for 12 yards before coach Bobby Petrino pulled Fishback in favor of Doughty.

Doughty completed 29-of-45 passes for 387 yards against the Trojans but had two crucial fumbles in the 32-26 loss.

Doughty has thrown for 2,045 yards and eight touchdowns this year but has also thrown 12 interceptions. He is the only Topper quarterback to play in all eight games, getting the start in six.
